Gigi Favela’s are well-designed, well-crafted Italian made shoes that celebrate the possibilities that are to be had on your feet. ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Monica Favela George, a former business writer with a sculptural and color theory background, is the designer behind the Gigi Favela independent brand. The brand’s name is a combination of her 5-year-old daughter’s nickname and Monica’s maiden name. Monica travels to Italy multiple times a year to select materials, design components, review prototypes, and work side-by-side with the Italian technicians that take her designs from paper to shoe. Design influences and inspiration come from architecture, American pop culture, an homage to classical proportions, and the materials themselves. Monica’s goal is to design highly wearable shoes and boots that women love.
